It is undeniable that a large part of human cultures have been (and many, unfortunately, continue to be) tremendously macho, developing social structures where men had all the rights and freedoms and women were relegated to an absolutely limited secondary role, basically, taking care of the children and the home.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, in the mid-18th century, a group of European thinkers and writers, in the context of both the Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution, began to pitch ideas about the nature of women<\/strong>, to point out the lack of coherence in the French motto of Freedom, Equality and Fraternity<\/em> and to question the deeply ingrained and destructive hierarchy of the sexes.<\/p>\n

And that was how, when women dared to speak out as a group to defend their rights, the feminist movement was born through the so-called first wave. Today, after countless struggles and achievements, we find ourselves in the fourth wave of feminism, a social revolution where, making use of the resources of the digital age, we are fighting to achieve full equality between the sexes.<\/p>\n

Even so, the concept of \"feminism\" remains a great stranger to some and an inexhaustible source of new knowledge for those more familiar with the nature of the term. Therefore, in today's article, we are going to delve into the feminist movement and explore in what ways feminism can manifest itself<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What kinds of feminism are there?<\/h2>\n

Feminism is a social movement and political thought that demands, for women, the same rights, obligations and freedoms that men have traditionally had.<\/strong>. It is an ideology that defends the principle of equal rights between women and men, thus advocating the idea that no person can be deprived of their freedoms because of their sex and \/ or sexual orientation.<\/p>\n

In this sense, feminism does not demand, as many uninformed people believe, the superiority of women over men. Feminism demands full equality between the sexes, fighting to eliminate both the historical domination that men have exercised over women and the violence, in all its manifestations, from men to women.<\/p>\n

Thus, the feminist movement is based on the fight against machismo. And with three centuries of history, this ideology has achieved many social changes, but still, despite being in the XXI century, much remains to be done to achieve full equality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Feminism is the movement that promotes the recognition of the rights and capacities for women that historically and traditionally have been reserved only for men. But this oversimplified definition hides many nuances that deserve to be discussed and understood. So let's see what types of feminism exist.<\/p>\n

1. Liberal feminism<\/h3>\n

Liberal feminism is that current of the feminist movement that advocates promote the inclusion of women in the labor market<\/strong> and to promote equal opportunities in the social aspect. It is based on recognizing the capacities of women in professional and social life, which is why it promotes the establishment of laws that facilitate these freedoms.<\/p>\n
