\"Architect\"The Latin word art\u012dfex<\/em> came to our idiom<\/strong> What architect<\/strong>. This is the name of the individual who create or develop something<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is common that the concept is used with respect to execution of a<\/strong> construction site<\/strong> with expertise or mastery. In this framework, the idea of \u200b\u200bthe architect often appears as a synonym for artist<\/strong> or from Author<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For example: \"The architect of the victory was the captain of the team, who scored two goals in the last fifteen minutes of the game\"<\/em>, \"The diplomat was recognized as an architect of peace\"<\/em>, \"As explained by the architect of the building, his intention was to pay homage to nature through the forms and materials used in construction\"<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Take the case of a non-governmental organization (NGO<\/strong>) which is dedicated to the protection of the historical heritage of a city. When a project is announced to demolish a 19th century house and instead build a skyscraper, this entity starts a campaign to stop the initiative. After promoting demonstrations, giving interviews in the media and having meetings with the authorities, they get the project to be suspended. It can therefore be said that the NGO was architect of the cancellation of the venture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now suppose that a leader who aspires to preside over a club of football<\/strong> announces, in campaign, that if he is elected he will hire a renowned coach and several figures to aspire to win the championship. Once it prevails in the elections and begins its mandate, it fulfills its promise and carries out the hiring; months later, the team becomes champion. Faced with this reality, journalists point to the president as main architect of achievement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Architect\"Having said all this, we have appreciated the two great meanings of the term creator: the individual who is the cause of something, that is, the author of a work; someone who carries out a work skillfully. In the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy they also indicate a meaning that has fallen into disuse: person with a special skill<\/strong> to achieve what is proposed.<\/p>\n

While this word is used in everyday speech in some relatively formal context, it is not as common as Author<\/strong><\/em>, for example. Among its other synonyms, we can highlight the following: promoter, creator, craftsman<\/em> Y virtuous<\/em>. As with many other terms, this one does not have antonyms since if someone is not the author of a work, that does not mean that it is the opposite, but that they can be a collaborator, an observer or even not be related to it. no way.<\/p>\n

Of course, we could argue that in the context of a problem such as those cited in the previous examples, those people who could have done something to help others but remain idly demonstrate an attitude practically opposite to that of the architect<\/strong>. Let us return for a moment to the case of the old building that a company plans to demolish to erect a skyscraper; If within the NGO that finally stops the project there are some collaborators who know from the first moment a legal tool to solve the problem but, for different reasons, do not use it, its omission is contrary to the efforts of those who do defend<\/strong> architectural heritage.<\/p>\n

Although there is no single term with which to describe this attitude to perfectly oppose it to the meaning of architect<\/em>, as if it were two extremes, you can always resort to expressions that denote your lack of commitment<\/strong> and that highlight the contrast with the actions of those who do act in pursuit of the objective: \"Unlike Juan's absolute inactivity, Marta moved from the beginning and that is why we consider her the architect of the cancellation\"<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
