calendar year

A year it's a time period which lasts for twelve months. The concept can also be used as time unit to name a certain cycle or course. Calendar, for its part, is a term derived from Latin calendarium and that alludes to system that allows to represent the advance of the days under higher groupings such as weeks and months.

A calendar year consists of twelve months. The first is January and then they follow February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November Y December, in that order. The 365 days of the calendar year are divided into months of 30 days (April, June, September and November) and 31 days (January, March, May, July, August, October and December), February being a particular case since it can be 28 or 29 days old. In a typical 365-day year, February has 28 days. On the other hand, when it comes to a leap-year, the month of February has 29 days and the year extends to 366 days. This is due to the need to correct the difference between the calendar year and the tropic year (which is the time that the planet takes Land to complete its orbit around the sun).
It is interesting to know that not every calendar year is identical to the one mentioned. So, for example, there is the Chinese calendar year which is quite different from the previous one. Specifically, from this Asian we can highlight a series of peculiarities such as these:
-Also responds to the lunar calendar name.
-It is lunisolar and comes to regulate, specifically to order, the days, weeks and months according to the movement of the Moon. In this way, for example, the days begin and end at midnight while the months begin on the day of the new moon.
-The year is divided into 24 regular periods that correspond to solar seasons.
-Each month has 29.5 days and that results in 354 days a year. However, every three years a leap month is added to the Chinese calendar.
It should not be overlooked either that within the accounting or commercial sphere, there is another calendar year. Specifically, the business year is the twelve-month period that ends, as it may be, on June 30 or December 31.
A clear example of a calendar year different from the one mentioned in the first place is the one we see when signing a contract. Thus, for example, if this document was signed on March 1, its calendar year will be the one from that date to March 1 of the following year. That is the time in which it will remain in force.
